Privacy Policy
Effective: 1 November 2026
Weight Gain Tracker keeps your profile, food diary, weight history, body measurements, progress photos and preferences in this app's private storage on your device. No sign-in is required; an account is optional (see ACCOUNT). There is no cloud diary sync and no advertising SDK. Device/OS protections apply; the database is not additionally encrypted by this app.
Food Data
The built-in food library (USDA FoodData Central, public domain) is bundled in the app and searched offline. Camera access is optional and used locally to read barcodes and to take progress photos; those images are not uploaded. The only exception is AI MEAL SCAN below, and only when you use it. If you look up a barcode, the code and normal network metadata, including your IP address, go to Open Food Facts. See https://world.openfoodfacts.org/terms-of-use.
Progress Photos
Photos you add are copied into the app's private storage on this device. They are never uploaded and are not included in backup files.
AI Meal Scan
Optional. When you scan a meal, the photo (resized, with location and other metadata removed) is sent over HTTPS to our server (weightgain.quizpedia.uz) and to an AI provider (Anthropic by default) to recognise foods and estimate grams. Photos are not stored by us after the answer is returned and are not used to train AI under the provider's API terms. Calories are calculated in the app from the USDA library. We keep a scan log (time, result status, model, cost, a hashed device ID) to enforce free/Pro limits and prevent abuse — it contains no photo and no food names. You review results before anything is saved; AI estimates can be wrong.
Account
Optional. If you sign in with Apple or Google we store your account ID, sign-in provider and email (Apple may give a private relay address) so Pro and AI scans follow you to a new device. Your food diary still stays on your device. You can sign out or delete the account in Settings → Account; deletion removes your server data, the RevenueCat customer record and, for Apple, revokes the sign-in token. Deleting the account does not cancel a store subscription.
Apple Health / Health Connect
Optional and off by default. If you turn it on, the app reads weight readings and writes the weights you log. Health data is used only inside the app and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
Subscriptions
In a production build, RevenueCat and your platform store process purchase/entitlement information and necessary technical identifiers. We use an anonymous RevenueCat customer ID. We do not attach your profile, food, weight, photos or notes to purchases. Restoring purchases is separate from restoring your diary.
Anonymous Usage Analytics
To improve the app, we may send anonymous usage events (for example "onboarding completed", "paywall viewed", "food logged — source: barcode") to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics provider. Events contain no name, email, weight, calories, food names, age, height, notes or dates of your diary. You can turn this off in Settings → Share anonymous usage.
Reminders And Widgets
Reminders are optional local notifications and never contain food or weight values. Home-screen widgets show only today's calorie and protein totals and your streak. Local diagnostics are off by default; if enabled they store permitted event categories on the device for up to 90 days and are never uploaded.
Your Controls
You may export your data, replace it from a backup, or delete all local data in Settings. Exported files are unencrypted and may contain sensitive health information. Local deletion does not cancel a store subscription or delete store/provider purchase records. The app excludes its private health database from automatic OS cloud backups; keep your own exported backup before uninstalling or changing devices.
This app is for adults. It is not for medical nutrition care, pregnancy, breastfeeding or eating disorders. We do not sell health information.
